These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all sales of products and vehicles, as well as conversions, upgrades, and fitment services provided by Bakkies.co.za, a division of CarTribe (Pty) Ltd (“Bakkies.co.za”, “we”, “us”, “our”), to any customer or website user (“you”).
By accessing our website, purchasing products or vehicles, or commissioning us to perform work on your vehicle, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
In these Terms:
- “Site” / “Website” means bakkies.co.za and any related online platforms we operate.
- “Products” means parts, accessories, and goods sold online or directly.
- “Vehicle” means any bakkie, 4x4, SUV, or other vehicle sold by us or entrusted to us for work.
- “Services” means conversions, upgrades, fitment, bodywork, detailing, and related labour.
- “Work Order” / “Job Card” means the written record of the agreed scope of work.
These Terms apply in addition to any specific quote, invoice, or agreement which may stipulate additional conditions.
2. Application of These Terms
These Terms apply to:
- The use of our website and online store,
- All sales of Products,
- All sales of Vehicles, and
- All conversions, upgrades, and fitment Services performed by us.
If a conflict exists between these Terms and a signed agreement, the signed agreement prevails for that transaction.
3. Website Use & Online Store
3.1 You must be legally competent (18+) to use our Site or place orders.
3.2 Information on the Site is provided “as is” and may change without notice.
3.3 Product descriptions, pricing, photos, and availability may vary; errors may occur.
3.4 Fraudulent orders, misuse, or abusive behaviour may result in blocked access.
4. Orders, Quotes & Pricing (Products & Services)
4.1 Quotes
- All quotations for Products, Services, and Vehicles are valid for 48 hours, subject to exchange rates, supplier pricing, and stock availability.
4.2 Online Orders
- Adding Products to your cart constitutes an offer to purchase.
- Acceptance occurs only when we send written confirmation and/or dispatch goods.
4.3 Pricing
- Prices are in ZAR unless stated otherwise.
- Prices may include or exclude VAT (clearly indicated on invoices).
- Discounts and promotions may be withdrawn at any time.
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Products
- Full payment is required at checkout. Orders are processed once payment clears.
5.2 Conversions, Upgrades & Fitment
- A 75% deposit is required to secure your booking.
- The balance is payable before the vehicle is released.
- Payments are non-refundable once work has commenced.
5.3 Vehicle Sales
- Deposits may be required to reserve a Vehicle.
- The purchase price balance is due before delivery or collection.
- For financed purchases, the sale is subject to final approval by the finance provider.
5.4 All amounts must be paid without deduction or set-off.
6. Delivery of Products
6.1 Shipping is via our chosen logistics partners. Delivery times are estimates only.
6.2 Risk passes on delivery/collection. Ownership passes once payment clears.
6.3 International customers are responsible for import duties, taxes, and customs fees unless expressly stated otherwise.
7. Vehicle Sales – Specific Terms
7.1 Condition & Inspection
- Vehicles sold are typically pre-owned.
- We disclose material information reasonably known to us.
- You are encouraged to inspect or arrange an independent inspection before purchase.
7.2 Registration, Licensing & Certifications

The buyer is solely responsible for:
- Registration of the Vehicle,
- Licensing and administrative fees,
- Obtaining a Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) or any other required certification,
- Number plates,
- Any provincial or cross-province licensing.

- We provide the correct change of ownership documents; the rest is the buyer’s responsibility.
7.3 Test Drives & Risk
- Test drives require a valid driver’s licence.
- You drive at your own risk and may be held liable for negligent damage.
7.4 Trade-Ins
- Trade-in values are based on the condition/mileage at final inspection.
- If discrepancies are found, we may adjust or cancel the trade-in offer.
7.5 Risk & Ownership
- Risk transfers to you on handover or delivery.
- Ownership transfers once full payment is received and documents are signed.
7.6 Modifications & Warranties
- Aftermarket modifications or third-party work may affect warranties.
- Any existing warranty terms are supplied separately where applicable.
7.7 Voetstoots (Where Allowed)
- Certain pre-owned vehicles may be sold as is (voetstoots), where legally permitted.
- This does not exclude liability for fraud or misrepresentation.
8. Conversions, Upgrades & Fitment – Scope of Work
8.1 We specialise in aesthetic modifications, including body conversions, interiors, paintwork, detailing, and accessory fitment.
8.2 We predominantly fit aftermarket (non-OEM) parts unless otherwise agreed.
8.3 Any variation to the agreed scope must be confirmed in writing and may alter costs or timelines.
9. Removed Parts & Storage
9.1 Parts removed during conversions become the property of Bakkies.co.za, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
9.2 Retained parts must be collected within 7 days of completion or may be disposed of.
9.3 Vehicles must be collected within 7 days of completion; storage fees may apply.
10. Pre-Existing Damage & Hidden Defects
10.1 We are not responsible for hidden/pre-existing defects discovered during work.
10.2 Work stops until a way forward is agreed; additional repairs are billed separately.
11. Third-Party Interference
11.1 If third-party work conflicts with our recommendations, design, or timing, we accept no responsibility for resulting issues.
11.2 Warranty on affected areas becomes void once third-party modifications occur.
12. Conduct & Professionalism
12.1 Communication with staff must be respectful.
12.2 Aggressive, abusive, or intoxicated behaviour may lead to immediate termination of services without refund.
13. Risk & Insurance
13.1 Vehicles on our premises remain at the owner’s risk.
13.2 You are responsible for ensuring your vehicle is adequately insured.
14. Warranty, Returns, Refunds, Replacement or Repair
14.1 We guarantee workmanship and supplied parts are free of defects at completion.
14.2 Defects must be reported within 7 days for repair, replacement, or refund (at our discretion).
14.3 Correctly supplied and fitted parts are not returnable unless defective.
14.4 Labour may be charged for removal/reinstallation of parts.
14.5 Online Product returns are governed by our Returns Policy and the CPA.
15. Termination of Services
We may suspend or terminate services if:
- Payments are not made,
- Abusive behaviour occurs, or
- Third-party interference prevents us from completing work.
Vehicles will be returned in reasonable condition; no further liability applies.
16. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for:
- Indirect, special, or consequential loss,
- Delays beyond our control,
- Issues arising from incorrect use, poor maintenance, or third-party modifications.
Liability is limited to amounts paid by you for the specific transaction, unless otherwise required by law.
17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
Disputes should first be raised with us for resolution.
If unresolved, disputes may be referred to arbitration or to MIOSA where applicable.
18. Data Protection & Privacy
Our Privacy Policy governs how we collect and use personal information.
By using our Site or transacting with us, you consent to such processing in line with POPIA.
19. General
- If any clause is unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
- We may update these Terms at any time; the updated version applies to new transactions.
- You may not cede or assign rights under these Terms without our written consent.
